[Interview 2026-10-21] Grant Kitchen was born and raised in Des Moines and found MMA around 2020, after high school, as an outlet that kept him out of trouble and brought him closer to his faith. He made his debut at AFC under coach Vic Moreno, and now trains MMA at Porcelli's Training Center and jiu-jitsu at Renzo Gracie Des Moines, where he is a blue belt. He works full time as an HVAC tech and calls the job his edge. He returns from a nearly two-year layoff for an AFC 71 title rematch with Gavin Urias, and names his sister as his biggest supporter.
