MMA fighter coming out from 31Six. Changed over from Valor Martial Arts back in November 2025. Born in Wichita Kansas, from immigrants parents coming from Vietnam. Fighting for myself and those around me. This is something I love and am passionate about despite my record. I love to fight and try and make something out of it. [Interview 2026-07-27] Fights as "Masked Oni" — oni translates to demons, and he means it two ways: the mask an opponent faces, and "we all have demons, we all hide behind a mask. The only time I feel like I can be my real self is inside the cage, unmasked." Wichita-born son of Vietnamese immigrants; his father escaped by boat in the 1980s as a child (a sibling was caught and jailed so the others could get out), earned US citizenship through four years in the Navy, and worked almost seven days a week — "I've never seen the man take a vacation." His father died in November 2025 and never attended a fight, having pushed him toward engineering/medicine/law instead; Andrew completed a MASTER'S IN SOCIAL WORK to honour that expectation, then chose fighting for himself. ACC 3 is his first fight since his father's death and he is dedicating it to him. Day job: foster-care social worker (independent living permanence specialist) working with intellectually disabled youth aging out of care — and he actively recruits troubled kids to 316: "martial arts saved me, it can save anyone." Couldn't play sports as a kid (family too poor; worked with his dad); bullied, expelled multiple times, street fights, then wrestling/track/football as a senior. Left Valor after 7 years (2018-2025) purely for training partners his size. Record 1-6, 1 NC — his one win was on three weeks' notice over Justin Martinez, now a BKFC fighter, in Martinez's last amateur bout. Took ACC 3 on short notice replacing Jacob Canaday, and is fighting on an MCL torn 3.5 months ago. Coaches: Cody Bettler and Chris Harris.
